I own a "77 Dirt Squirt in VGC. I have not run it very much. It starts well and I got it to idle but it is VERY weak off idle. If I hold the throttle in the midrange it seems to come on like it is cleaning out or coming on the pipe. At full throttle the power drops off and again it runs weak. Seems to smoke a lot too. I have fresh fuel in it, I have a modern trials bike and I run about 90 to 1 Amsoil in it and that is the fuel I put in the Dirt Squirt. I believe the carb to be the stock 26mm Mikuni. The carb was quite clean but I have used some carb cleaner on it and tried to verify all passages were open to the best of my ability. I moved the clip on the needle to one notch from the top and it helped. The needle is a 5EL9, pilot jet is #30, I can't read the numbers on the main jet. The frame is K-23125 and Motor is M10978 so per my owner's manual the needle and pilot are stock. I am only planning to trail ride this, not MX or race and I am a trials rider so I like good low end. Any thoughts and what I should do?

I also have a question about the forum: I read quite a lot of information on the forum last Fall and Winter but now I don't seem to have access to older threads. How do I access old threads?

Forgot to mention I have also removed the oil pump and plugged the hole in the manifold where the oil is injected with a screw and fiber washer.

If it smokes a lot it is possible the clutch side crank seal is leaking.
